About Me

I’m Reece Piccolo-Sellin, a lifelong learner, software developer, and someone with a very wide range of interests and pursuits.

I was born and raised in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada, where I had the unique experience of starting college at just twelve-years-old, making me the youngest student ever at Thompson Rivers University (TRU) (then the University College of the Cariboo).

Early on, local and national media dubbed me a “whiz kid.” I graduated in 2000 as TRU’s youngest-ever degree recipient with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in 2003.

In my teens, I founded the Freedows OS project, an ambitious attempt to create an open-source operating system that could run programs developed for Microsoft Windows and other platforms.

Over the years, I’ve worn many hats, including: political advocate, journalist, editor, and, of course, software developer.

I co-founded and served as Vice President of ELMS of BC, advocating for seniors’ rights in long-term care policy. I also ventured into journalism as the founder of the web-zine Virtual Times, managing editor of the industry trade magazine Ping! Zine, and senior editor of Over Easy, Please, a local newspaper in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

These days, my work has evolved to focus heavily on AI voice agents, building intelligent systems that blend advanced technology with human-like interactions at JGRobo Marketing. Historically, I’ve specialized in areas like marketing automation, call center automation, cloud communications, and backend development; I continue to work in those spaces while pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve.
